Why structure matters more than length
The Amazon description field sits below the bullets, below the related-products row, and on mobile is collapsed under "See more" by default. The buyers who do expand it are high-intent — they've already considered buying. A wall of text loses them; a scannable structure closes them.
For brand-registered sellers, A+ content modules replace the plain description with image-rich blocks — but the underlying structure (headline → problem → benefits → contents → buyer → close) is identical. Build the text first; the modules are just a visual treatment of the same outline.
Amazon also indexes description text for search to a lesser degree than the title or bullets. Weave secondary keywords naturally — never list keywords standalone. Listings flagged for keyword stuffing get suppressed.
